Dr. Renee Bhatti-Klug [Ruh-nay ba-Hot-tee or buh-tee Kloog] (she/her/hers) is a culture, inclusion, and belonging strategist, storyteller, world traveler, and connoisseur of fun, as well as an internationally recognized facilitator, leadership consultant, and keynote speaker.
For 25 years, Renee has developed leaders from over 150 nations using her CI framework to foster curiosity, empathy, and compassion through human-centered, action-oriented, and data-informed decision making. She's known for her direct yet diplomatic communication and her hands-on approach to building collaborative, trusting cultures.
In her dissertation research, which was recognized by the American Educational Research Association (AERA), she explains her original and how leaders can use CI to create systems of accountability and cultures of belonging.
For 17 years, Renee taught English literature, creative writing, and language acquisition to diverse college students in the U.S. and abroad. As Director of Advocacy Initiatives and Senior University Trainer at Arizona State University*, she guided nearly 20,000 faculty, staff, and students in enhancing CI through specialized certificate programs.
Internationally recognized for her work on cultural inclusion, Renee has served as an editor for Current Issues in Education, led as faculty fellow at The Human Values Center*, contributed to committees and boards, and is a certified advanced Enneagram [any-ah-gram] facilitator and type 4w3 (SO 478). Her insights on culture appear in various publications and podcasts.
Renee is a first-generation American, the proud daughter of a Punjabi father and Irish-Polish-French mother. She resides with her husband Gregory, a pianist and composer, and their three loquacious children in the Wild West—her hometown of Phoenix, Arizona—where she’s discovered green grass and true community.
Renee has lived in England and France, backpacked Europe, kayaked in Fiji, and educated teachers in Madagascar. In extroversion, she goes to 11—because people are her why.
