Dr. Earl E. Lee (they/them) is an educator, facilitator, and social justice advocate who focuses on issues related to race, sexuality, globalization, and education. They are a collaborative educational leader and researcher committed to practices that promote transformative justice in education. Earl develops high impact co-curricular initiatives that support rigorous programs and foster inclusive environments.

As a Black, queer, gender non-conforming immigrant raised in Jamaica, Earl uses teachings from their grandmother to guide their values as a lifelong learner and advocate. They are committed to using their voice to highlight and elevate the voices of people from minoritized communities in the United States and globally to create real-world solutions.

For eight years, Earl served in multiple roles in student affairs, developing expertise in creating high-impact programs in student engagement, residence life, and multicultural student services. As the Director of Student Engagement at Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University*, they developed data-driven strategies that supported student success, nurtured students’ leadership abilities, and advocated for student-led initiatives. At University of Arizona*, Earl was the first Director of Training Initiatives through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, where they advanced Cultural Intelligence and foster communities for diverse college students from over 52 nations. Currently, Earl serves as Assistant Dean of Inclusive Excellence and Clinical Assistant Professor at ASU's Edson College of Nursing*.

To complement their experience, Earl earned a doctorate in Justice Studies at ASU*, with a dissertation entitled, Stories of Freedom, Stories of Possibilities: Black Speculative Pedagogy as a Blueprint for STEM Transformation. As a catalyst for social change, Earl uses a scholar-practitioner approach to examine how post-secondary education—its role and place in society—is shaped by commodification, colonialism, and globalization. To this end, they seek to find a solution to how the student experience is shaped, and post-secondary institutions must transform and uplift historically underserved communities.

Earl believes we must serve, not just enroll, students from diverse backgrounds in higher education; they apply this same vision to CITC in serving our clients.

In their free time, Earl enjoys playing volleyball, baking cupcakes, and binging television.
